Some pieces of baggage are specially transported such as sports equipment, cradles, wheelchairs, bulky baggage, bicycles, and valuable items on passenger seats, etc.
• Pets carried as checked baggage include dogs, cats, and birds
• Request for AVIH should be made at least 24 hours before the departure time
• AVIH should be accompanied by a valid health and rabies vaccination certificate, entry permit, and other documents required by countries of departure, transit, and entry.
• Passenger required AVIH services (hereinafter referred to as Passenger) assumes all risks of injury, sickness, or death during carriage.
• Only AVIH in a healthy state without offensive smell is accepted for carriage. Bad health conditions or pregnant AVIH shall be rejected.
• AVIH might be rejected for carriage due to weather reasons (too hot or too cold) or air conditioner and temperature control of aircraft.
• Size and weight restrictions of AVIH and its container are subject to individual aircraft and local AVIH regulations of departure/intermediate/arrival airports in the AVIH itinerary. Note: If the route is collected by legs operated by another Carrier, AVIH shall be rejected if it is rejected in any individual leg.
• The container should be prepared by the passenger and should meet the following requirements:
- Each animal contained in the container must have enough space to turn about normally while standing, to stand and sit erect, and to lie in the natural position
- All materials such as fiberglass, metal, rigid plastics, weld metal mesh, solid wood, or plywood would be accepted. The container sides must be solid with sufficient ventilation. The interior of the container must be smooth with no sharp edges or protuberances in which the animals can injure themselves.
- The whole of one end of the container must be open, covered with bars which is securely fixed to the container so the animal cannot dislodge it. The door must form the whole of one end, and be securely locked for a safe journey
- The floor must be solid and leak-proof
- Any wheels must be removed before the flight.
- The maximum number of pets per container is one. However, in the case of birds, a maximum of two (02) birds may be shipped in one suitable container. Bird containers should be covered by muslin curtains to reduce light inside the container.
• Block seat baggage (CBBG): fragile, bulky, or high-value items such as large musical instruments, paintings, and antique bottles that are not suitable to load in a cargo compartment could be carried as block seat baggage in the cabin.
• CBBG service requests should be made at least 24 hours before the departure time.
• Passenger and the accompanied block seat baggage must be ticketed on the same flight and in the same class of service.
• Articles too large or of weight over 75 kg per seat, pressure on the seat over 0.046 kg/cm2 (equivalent to 75 kg/40cmx40cm seat area) shall not be accepted.
• The three-dimension size of CBBG should not exceed 40cm x 50cm x 95cm
• CBBG must be packed so that it does not scratch the seat, or harm the nearby passenger.
• CBBG must be scanned and security checked following the Aviation Security Program of Air Cambodia.
• Baggage that does not meet any of the above criteria shall not be accepted as CBBG Note: If the route is collected by legs operated by another Carrier, AVIH shall be rejected if it is rejected in any individual leg.
• Charges: the rate equivalent to 100% of the full applicable one-way adult fare for the segment and class of service used.
• Bulky baggage to be carried as checked baggage includes large-size items (total dimensions exceeding 203 cm) and/or overweight ones (weighing over 32kg/baggage).
• Bikes to be carried as checked baggage include all kinds of regular bikes, sport bikes, and powered bikes (operated by thermo-battery or electric-battery, etc…).
• Bulk must be packed neatly without sharp-pointed angles.
• BIKE must be packed in a manner that satisfies the following requirements:
- Handlebars are positioned along the length direction of the bike.
- Disassemble and pack the bulky parts like a pedal, lamp, mirror, support pole
- The tires must be flatted before being packed
- Bike must be packed in a box.
- Carrying powered BIKE (powered by electric or thermo battery…) follows regulations indicated in table 2.3A of the current edition of IATA Dangerous Good Regulations.
- Limits of dimensions and weights for BULK/BIKE transportation are subject to individual aircraft and the regulations of carrying BULK/BIKE transport by local authorities at the departure airport/ arrival airport during the route of transport of BULK/BIKE. Note: If the route is collected by legs operated by other Carriers, BULK/BIKE shall be rejected if it is rejected in any individual leg.
• Charges: BULK/BIKE transport fare is applied as normal access checked baggage.
Sports equipment carried as checked baggage (SPEQ)
• Golf set: One golf set includes one golf bag containing a maximum of 14 golf clubs, 12 golf balls, and T-shaped devices with a total weight of no more than 20 kg. Equipment other than the above-mentioned items shall not be regarded as golf sets.
• Snow ski set: A snow-ski set includes one set of skis, a pair of ski poles, and a pair of ski shoes or boots. Equipment other than the above-mentioned items shall not be regarded as a standard ski set.
• Surfboard: A sports equipment for wave surfing includes a surfboard
• Scuba diving equipment: A scuba diving equipment set includes a scuba cloth, a breath tube, a pair of screws, and a diving mask. The equipment belonging to the dangerous goods group (for example: pressure- gauge, scuba…) shall not be accepted.
• The request for transport of SPEQ must be booked in advance at least 24 hours before the flight’s estimated time of departure.
• SPEQ must be packed neatly without sharp-pointed angles to ensure safe transport.
• Charges: BULK/BIKE transport fare is applied as normal access checked baggage.
Some hazardous items are prohibited from transporting or conditionally transporting to ensure passenger safety. In addition, please refer to detailed information on types of luggage prohibited from entry by region/country at the information portal of the competent authorities.
Prohibited items for carriage in carry-on and checked baggage include dangerous, harmful, or potentially harmful ones to people, property, and crew. Prohibited items include:
• Explosives and items containing explosives.
• Flammable substances in the form of gases, liquids, or solids.
• Oxidizers, organic peroxides, and related items.
• Corrosives, infectious or toxic substances, and related items.
• Radioactive materials, magnetized materials.
• Compressed gases; materials that are easily ignited, poisonous, offensive or irritating substances.
• Organic detergents.
In addition, Air Cambodia does not transport articles, which are unsuitable for carriage because of their weight, size, shape, or character.
Items prohibited in carry-on baggage but allowed in checked baggage include:
• Sharp objects, weapons or weapon-like items such as knives, swords, multi-function knives, darts, scissors, axes, etc.
• Firearms, parts of firearms, ammunitions, stun guns, imitation firearms, toy guns, or weapon-like toys/items. However, to get these items checked in, passengers must obtain a permit from a competent authority.
• Tools or things that can cause injury include crowbars, shovels, drills/screwdrivers, blow torches, blades or shafts longer than 6 cm, wrenches, spanners, and pliers longer than 10cm in total length, etc.
• Bats (baseball, billiards), hockey sticks, golf clubs, martial arts items, batons, self-defense sprays (mace/pepper), etc.
In addition, Air Cambodia does not transport some items due to their weight, size, or characteristics.
Valuable items such as money, jewelry, cameras, camcorders, personal computers, mobile phones, and so on should be put in carry-on baggage, and should not be checked in to avoid damage or loss.
Removable Lithium battery devices and power banks, in particular, are only accepted for carry-on baggage (not checked baggage).
Some items are conditional for carriage in carry-on and/or checked baggage. Please learn about the regulations for each item type in the list below.
• Air Cambodia does not restrict foods (except for odorous foods). Food carried in carry-on/checked baggage should follow the regulations on weight, size, and number of pieces of carry-on/checked baggage.
• It is recommended that odorous foods should be put in checked baggage. Some other airlines shall not accept transporting odorous baggage. If your itinerary involves other airlines, you should check the carrier's regulations on odorous baggage.
• Air Cambodia does not restrict drinks (except for alcoholic foods). Drinks carried in carry-on/checked baggage should follow the regulations on weight, size, and number of pieces of carry-on/checked baggage.
• Alcoholic drinks carried in carry-on and checked baggage should satisfy the following regulations:
• Alcoholic drinks with no more than 24% alcohol concentration: no restrictions.
• Drinks with an alcohol concentration from over 24% to 70% must be stored in the manufacturer's container, with seals and labels; the container does not exceed 5 liters, and each passenger shall carry no more than 5 liters (in both carry-on and checked baggage).
• Drinks with alcohol concentration above 70%: prohibited for transportation.
On international flights, passengers should follow the regulations of Air Cambodia (for alcoholic drinks and odorous foods mentioned above) as well as the conditions of the arrival country.
Regulations on the transportation of liquids, viscous solutions, aerosol solutions (liquids) by person and hand luggage for international flights must meet the following conditions:
In hand baggage
• One sealed bottle/can/container with no more than 100ml.
• Each passenger can carry up to 1 liter of liquid, spray or gel.
• Liquid items are only accepted when they are in aerosol form and non-radioactive for medical use, makeup, or personal toiletries.
• The sprayer’s valve should have a suitable cover or protection to avoid accidental activation.
• On international flights, liquid items purchased at stores at the international quarantine zone are allowed to bring along or put in carry-on baggage without limitation provided that they are contained in a sealed secure plastic bag.
• For flights from/to the US, such items are only allowed in checked baggage.
In checked baggage
• Bottles/cans/containers should be sealed to prevent from spilling.
• Satisfy the regulations on the weight and size of free checked baggage.
Exceptions
The following items are allowed in carry-on/checked baggage without limitation under the above conditions:
• Prescribed drugs with the prescriber's first name, last name and address, the user's first name and last name, which match the passenger's first and last name.
• Milk, baby food for infants and children if infants or children are accompanied.
Non-radioactive medicine (including sprays) for passenger treatment, makeup, personal hygiene products (including sprays) such as hair spray, perfume, sunscreen sprays and alcoholic chemicals, and alcoholic disinfectant towels can be carried in carry-on baggage and checked baggage provided that:
• One bottle/can with a volume/weight of less than 0.5 kg or 0.5 liter.
• Each passenger can carry a total volume/weight of these items with no more than 2 kg or 2 liters (including both carry-on and checked baggage).
• Non-toxic and non-flammable sprays for sports and family use: not accepted in carry-on baggage, passengers can carry in checked baggage.
• Bottles/cans should be sealed to prevent from spilling.
• The sprayer’s valve should have a suitable cover or protection to avoid accidental activation.
Cigarettes
• For international flights: passengers should learn about the regulations of cigarettes carried to the destination country.
• For domestic flights: Air Cambodia does not restrict cigarettes in carry-on/checked baggage as long as they satisfy the regulations on weight, size, and number of pieces of carry-on/checked baggage.
Electronic cigarettes
Cambodia Airlines does not accept checks in portable electronic devices containing batteries for smoking, such as electronic cigarettes, electronic cigars, electronic pipes, or other types of personal gas-generating equipment. Please carry these items in your carry-on baggage provided that:
• For personal use only.
• These devices and batteries are not permitted to be charged or used during the flight.
• Removable batteries are only allowed in carry-on baggage and must be separately protected to prevent activation during transport. The batteries must be repackaged and stored separately in cases/bags, or their terminals must be insulated.
• In the case of Lithium metal batteries, each battery contains no more than 2g of Lithium. For Lithium-ion batteries, each battery should have a capacity of no more than 100Wh.
• Before the flight, passengers should contact Vietnam Airlines to learn about the specific regulations on e-cigarettes.
Items containing batteries carried in carry-on baggage and/or checked baggage with Lithium content in Lithium metal or capacity (Wh) for Lithium-ion batteries must meet the standards in the table below.
Removable batteries and power banks should only be carried in carry-on baggage.

Note for power banks:
• Each battery should be individually protected and turned off completely to prevent activation.
• All batteries and equipment transported for personal use only.
Portable electronic devices (PEDs) with batteries and portable power banks including electronic medical equipment for passenger treatment, and electronic devices for personal needs such as wristwatches, calculators, cameras, mobile phones, laptops, camcorders, etc.
Portable electronic devices are permitted to be carried in checked baggage and/or carry-on baggage with the following conditions:
• Electronic devices with batteries attached
• Electronic devices with Lithium metallic/alloy batteries with less than 2g of Lithium or Lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of no more than 100Wh. Each passenger can carry up to 15 electronic medical devices of this type (including carry-on and checked baggage).
• Electronic medical devices are permitted to be carried in carry-on or checked baggage if they use Lithium metal/alloy batteries between 2g and 8g of Lithium or Lithium-ion batteries with a capacity between 100Wh and 160Wh.
• Electronic devices with wet-cell batteries – non-spillable, nonabsorbable batteries, can be carried in carry-on or checked baggage provided that: The batteries have a voltage of less than 12V, capacity of less than 100Wh, and must comply with some other special provisions of temperature, pressure tolerance, etc.
• Electronic devices containing fuel batteries should only be carried in carry-on baggage and must not be charged during the flight.
The device's power bank
• Removable batteries/rechargeable power banks of all types are carried only in carry-on baggage.
• Power banks which are dry batteries, nickel metallic hydride batteries, and Lithium metallic/alloy batteries containing less than 2g of Lithium or Lithium-ion with a capacity of less than 100Wh. Each passenger can carry up to 10 power banks of this type.
• Power banks are Lithium metallic/alloy Lithium batteries containing between 2g and 8g Lithium or Lithium-ion with a capacity between 100Wh and 160Wh. Each passenger can carry up to 02 power banks of this type.
• Wet-cell and non-spillable batteries have a voltage of less than 12V, a capacity of less than 100Wh, and must comply with some other special provisions of temperature, pressure tolerance, etc. Each passenger can carry up to 02 power banks of this type.
• Fuel power banks containing flammable liquids, corrosives, flammable liquefied gases, and reactants when exposed to water or hydrogen gas in metal hydride must be carried in carry-on baggage and not be charged during flight. Each passenger can carry up to 02 power banks of this type.
General notes
• Equipment with batteries must be protected from unintended activation, batteries must be disconnected, and exposed terminals must be insulated.
• The battery must be separately protected to prevent activation during transport by re-packing, storing in a separate case/bag, or taping to insulate the exposed terminals.
• Lithium battery suitcases/bags with removable battery design (maximum battery capacity of 160 Wh)
• Lithium battery suitcases/bags with non-removable battery design
- Are accepted for carriage in carry-on or checked baggage;
- If transported in checked baggage, the device must be completely turned off.
• Battery-powered wheelchairs or other similar mobility aids for use by passengers whose mobility is restricted by either a disability, their health or age, or a temporary mobility problem (e.g. broken leg).
• The battery-powered wheelchair & mobility aids might be transported if they meet the conditions published by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
Dry ice
• Each passenger carries no more than 2.5kg of dry ice (including carry-on and check-in).
• The net weight of dry ice should not exceed 2.5kg.
• Only for storing food or perishable substances provided that the package allows Carbon dioxide (CO2) release.
• Air Cambodia does not accept carrying dry ice as check baggage”.
Adhesives
• Unrestricted adhesives that are non-flammable, non-toxic, and not hazardous can be transported in carry-on and checked baggage.
Ashes: can be transported as carry-on or checked baggage.
Remains: can only be transported as checked baggage under the condition that they are securely packed in hard cases to ensure that no break or smell happens during transportation.
Notes:
• This condition applies to itineraries containing a Air Cambodia segment. For multi-segment itineraries transported by different airlines, passengers need to contact and get confirmation from the airlines and related countries.
• Ashes, and remains must be granted Quarantine Certification by the Medical Center (City or Province level) for foreign transportation (not required for domestic transportation).
Upon the receipt of the baggage, the passenger must inform immediately of any irregularities (pilferage, damage, delay) at the baggage claim (Lost and Found counter) for Air Cambodia‘s staff to open a property irregular report (PIR).
Receipt by the passenger without complaint is prima facie evidence that the baggage has been delivered in good condition.
In the case of damage / Pilferage, the person entitled to the delivery must complain to the carrier, at the latest, within seven (7) days (based on the seal of the post office if any) from the date of receipt.
Every complaint must be made in writing and dispatched within the time limits mentioned above. Any complaints failing to arrive within the time limits and not in writing form shall not be considered to process.
* Note:
• We will not be liable for Damage to Unchecked Baggage unless we caused the Damage by our negligence and such negligence is proved by the Passenger or the person claiming compensation.
• We will not be liable for Damage to Baggage resulting from the inherent defect, quality, or vice of the Baggage. Likewise, we will not be liable for fair wear and tear of Baggage resulting from the usual and normal rigors of transportation by air for wheels, handles, straps...
If you arrive at the destination without your checked baggage, please be assured that we will do everything possible to assist you. We apologize for the mishandling of your baggage and will do our best to trace your baggage and deliver it to you as soon as possible.
Your baggage details have been entered into our worldwide computerized baggage tracing system.
In the case of delay, the person entitled to the delivery must complain to the carrier, at the latest, within twenty-one (21) days (based on the seal of the post office if any) from the date the baggage has been placed at his disposal.
In the case of lost baggage, the person entitled to the delivery must complain to the carrier, at the latest, within twenty-one (21) days (based on the seal of the post office if any) from the date the baggage should have been received by the passengers.
Every complaint must be made in writing and dispatched within the time limits mentioned above. Any complaints failing to arrive within the time limits and not in writing form shall not be considered to process.
We will advise you as soon as your baggage is located and will deliver it to the address you specified, subject to local Customs regulations. Alternatively, you may collect your baggage at the airport.
